I enjoyed Budapest. I stayed at the Kempinski Hotel Cornivus which welcomed with its spa, Nobu restaurant, and spacious rooms. Located across from the Budapest Eye and within walking to distance to Fashion Street, it is within close proximity to everything. The Danube River is less than a 5 minute walk, which offers convenient access to the famous chain bridge which takes you to Castle Hill. The rooms are lovely as is the atmosphere.

What You Need To Know:

• 90% of the staff speak fluent English, which is very helpful when you don’t speak Hungarian. Fun fact, most Hungarians have been learning English since they were five.
• While they offer all of the amenities of a luxury hotel, there are a few things that need to be addressed. Not all rooms come standard with coffee makers. Service can be slow. That being said, I found the concierge to be extremely helpful. I would give a 3.5 star on level of service overall, in comparison to luxury resorts/hotels.
• The Library area is perfect for coffee or a cocktail. Sit on the couch by the fire and relax a bit.
• The spa is nice. I did the Hungarian treatment, which feels beautiful after traveling. The spa has a lounge area and pool for all to enjoy, however there is no steam room and only one shower in the dressing room.
• There is a fitness center on site which is a bit larger than the photos and description on their website make it sound.
• Budapest is a walking city. There is no Uber, and most people walk everywhere.
• Enjoy a walk by the river, it is lovely.
• Concierge can arrange black car transportation to/from the hotel.
• Room Service is available and efficient. The European Breakfast is enough to share!
• If there is a line for the Funicular to Castle Hill, get on the bus, it may be faster.

Places of Interest While Visiting Budapest:

• Eat traditional Hungarian fare at 21 Hungarian Kitchen located on Castle Hill.
• Take a walking food tour with Taste Hungary. It was the best way to see the city and understand the culture. They also have tours available to visit wine country. Our tour guide was Fanni, who was amazing.
• Visit the Jewish Market on Sunday morning.
• Enjoy a cocktail at ruin bar Szimpla Kert.
• Try the local sparkling wine, Sauska.
• Dine at Zeller Bistro– incredible food and atmosphere.
• Enjoy “New Sashimi Style” at Nobu.
• Wine Tasting at the Tasting Table.
• Eat Langós (a cheese pizza type food) at Street Food Karavan Budapest.
